Hi! I am Albie, born Albert, the nickname “Albie” stuck from childhood. I come from Struthers, a Southeast suburb of Youngstown, and am the second of five children. My family is Slovak and Croation (Slow Crow) and we are a tight bunch rooted in faith and love. That faith and love has led me on a journey of faith that can only be explained by the work of God’s Hand. From baseball and crazy high school days to profound spiritual retreats and meeting people who witnessed God’s Love and Redemption to me on a daily basis, my family and these friends inspired my walk to discern priesthood as my vocation. After completing my exceptional seminary formation in 1985, I was granted a leave, and into my life walked my wife, Sue. Sue and I have been happily married since 1987 and we have two beautiful adult children, Dan and Kirsten. Through all those years I have served three Cleveland Parishes (Saint Rita since 1994) and my faith journey, by the grace of God, has continued and continues in this very moment as I write this introduction to you. Please know that I am honored to be able to walk with you and minister alongside of you and your family here at Saint Rita Parish!
