TRIALS FOR HOPE

Helping people who are under the bridges and fall through the cracks

Trials for Hope was named by the founder Jonathan Gray who was in a soup kitchen and given a bag of trial size personal items to give out. He gave them out and they gave him more. Those were the first trials for hope. They feed people in camps & under bridges and provide food, hygiene supplies, tents, clothes, showers, toilets and dignity. They give food to the homebound having not enough money for food/medicine/heat. Trials for Hope picks up food from grocery stores & the Food Bank providing free fresh produce. They also provide coats, underwear and socks to the homeless. Community meals are also served.

What we do:

  • Make & deliver sleeping mats
  • Pack food and toiletries for the homeless/home bound
  • Prep/serve a community meal the 2nd Tuesday or 4th Monday of the month 3:30-6 PM
  • Sponsor a fundraiser
  • Donate items on the Amazon wish list

How to help:
Help make and deliver sleeping mats for the homeless:

  • Flatten, cut, sort the bags
  • Loop the bags together
  • Weave the bags

HUMBLE DESIGN

Imagine going from nothing to having a furnished home! Humble Design furnishes houses top to bottom for homeless in shelters going into housing and veterans. They provide everything to make a house a home from donations! Less than 1% return to homelessness. They give all children a plaque with their name on it in their own room to give them a sense of belonging.

What we do

Work in their warehouse to check, clean and put away donated goods. Paint plaques for kids so that all children may have a plaque with their name on it. It is theirs alone. Do a home deco, going into a new space decorating it for them with Humble Designs goods.

How to help

  • Volunteer for 2 hours of warehouse work - sorting, cleaning, inspecting, putting away donations
  • Do a home deco - Go to a deco site with them, decorate a house top to bottom, arranging cabinets, the dining table, pictures, dresser tops, the kitchen bath & bedroom
  • Paint kids name plaques
  • Help trace pictures on plaques
  • Donate gently used, clean, no stains or tears household goods. No personal items.
