The Rev. Richard K. Burchell Educational Fund celebrates the legacy of our fourth pastor, Fr. Burchell (2005-2020) and his passion for Catholic education. Each year, Saint Rita Parish will award a $500 scholarship to an 8th grade student. To be considered for the Rev. Richard K. Burchell Scholarship, an applicant must be a parishioner or Saint Rita School student, a current 8th grader, and must be committed to continuing his/her education at a Catholic high school in the fall.

To apply for the 2022 Scholarship, students must:

1. Complete a 500-word essay answering the prompt, What does active faith mean to you? Explain how a Catholic high school education will help grow and strengthen your faith. Essays are due Friday, May 6.

2. Email the essay to Michelle Petitti by 5:00pm on Friday, May 6.

A review panel will use this rubic to grade each essay, and a winner will be announced on Monday, May 16.
