The following service leadership teams plan, organize and run some of the programs and events for high school teens at St. Rita. Each has it's own emphasis so you can choose what fits your interests:
Respect Life Team
Help create a culture of life. Choose and lead monthly discussions on a range of topics dealing with the dignity of life with the option of attending The March to Life trip to Washington DC.
Spring Retreat Team
Plan and lead the annual retreat.
YES Team (Youth Engaging Seniors)
Learn about the needs of the elderly and plan and lead projects to assist them (Fall and Spring clean-up, 12 Days of Christmas)
CHWC Team (Catholic Heart Workcamp)
Plan events and fundraisers for the summer service trip
Breakfast LinC Team
Meet to discuss topics of our faith and plan and lead the Sunday breakfast discussions.
Souper Bowl of Caring Team
Educate yourself and others about the issues of poverty and plan and lead a service project to help.
It's not too late to let us know if you are interested in being part of the leadership and what team interests you. It is very important that the team leaders attend the retreat!
THEOLOGY OF THE BODY
Discover God’s plan for love and life. Join us for a six week course on Theology of the Body, every Wednesday starting October 1st from 7-8:15pm in the Parish Office. The 'Theology of the Body' is Saint Pope John Paul II's integrated vision of the human person - body, soul, and spirit. As he explains, the physical human body has a specific meaning and is capable of revealing answers regarding fundamental questions about us and our lives. Below is a detailed description regarding the topic of conversation each week.
Week 1: Created for Love
Week 2: Love Defined: Giving versus Using
Week 3: Hope and Redemption in Christ
Week 4: Language of the Body
Week 5: Free, Total, Faithful, Fruitful
Week 6: Dating with Purpose and Purity
