| The Thea Bowman Center is a non-profit organization with partner parishes of St. Rita, Resurrection, Sts. Cosmas and Damian, St. Dominic, Assumption, St. Cecilia and Epiphany. As an outgrowth of Bishop Pilla's "Church in the City" program, suburban and inner-city parishes have teamed together to assist children and families in the Epiphany Parish/Mt. Pleasant neighborhood.
| St. Rita members help serve the Saturday hot lunch every third and fifth Saturday, help with Saturday arts and crafts, and help tutor reading and computer programs. Additional volunteers are always welcome and needed. |
The number of people that the Thea Bowman Center has served through its various programs include the following:
- The Saturday (Epiphany) Hot Meal Program, for which many St. Rita parishioners volunteer, serves an average of 691 people per month
- The Hunger Pantry (distributing bags of groceries, one distribution to a family allowed per month): serves an average of 458 families per month
- Works of Mercy donations are used to provide utility bill assistance, appliances, rental assistance, Cleveland Foodbank, personal emergencies, petty cash (oftentimes bus passes to help people get to work, or, as in one case, to help a young freshman get to John Carroll University!)
